Compassionate care in a convenient suburban setting
RFBI Lakemba Masonic Village is located in cosmopolitan Lakemba, part of the vibrant heart of multicultural Sydney. The village is a short walk to Lakemba shopping centre and its amazing and varied shops. Roselands shopping complex is also nearby.
The Senior Citizens’ Centre, library and railway station are close by and the area is well served by local buses. The village is on a public bus route to Earlwood, Kogarah and Roselands for visitors’ convenience.
You will be looked after 24 hours a day in a caring environment where compassionate care and attention to your needs are our number one priority. At the same time, we strive to help you keep your lifestyle as active and fulfilling as your health allows.
Along with our dedication to your health, we offer a varied program of social, recreational and special interest activities to help you maintain your social lifestyle and be part of the larger community. Typical activities awaiting you include walks in the park, a weekly sing-a-long, afternoon teas (run by our lovely volunteers) and our Friday afternoon happy hour. And if there are activities or ideas you'd like to add, tell us at one of our regular resident and family forums.
If you prefer to simply relax, you'll enjoy a peaceful time and fresh air in our serene and secure courtyard and garden areas.

At RFBI Lakemba Masonic Village, we provide 50 secure private rooms. Yours will be comfortably equipped, complete with en-suite bathroom, built-in wardrobes, wall units for convenient storage of your personal items. A phone connection is also provided. Each room also has a private balcony or opens onto the beautiful, recently revamped central courtyard.
We provide a range of communal spaces, including dining rooms and lounge rooms for activities. Recent refurbishments included the addition of a second lounge room, library and hairdressing room — giving you even more leisure options.
Meals are cooked fresh on site and served in the dining rooms. Laundry is also carried out on site.

The government will use your means assessment to determine what you will pay for your accommodation. If the government identifies that you require financial support, they will determine what, if any contribution you are required to make towards your accommodation costs. If you are not supported, you will be required to pay the published room price. There are a number of ways in which you may choose to pay for your accommodation:
- As a lump sum, called a Refundable Accommodation Deposit (RAD)
- A daily payment, called a Daily Accommodation Payment (DAP) (indexed twice per year) or
- Combination of refundable deposit and daily payment
- Part lump sum with the daily payment drawn down from the lump sum paid
The same payment options are available to supported residents in how they pay for their accommodation contribution.
Daily Accommodation Payments are indexed twice per year in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and an annual retention amount of 2% will be deducted from refundable deposits (RAD/RAC) for up to 5 years.
Higher Everyday Living Fee (HELF)
Residents may agree to enter into a Higher Everyday Living Agreement. The Higher Everyday Living options available at your RFBI Village will be provided to you on entry. You can take up HELF services at any time during your stay and have an option to cancel when the agreement is renewed each year.

History
The 50-bed RFBI Lakemba Masonic Village opened in November 1988. In 2007 we underwent an extensive program of refurbishments and extensions, completed in time to celebrate our twentieth anniversary.
As part of these renovations, we installed new floor coverings for the entire village, replaced all bedroom furniture and upgraded each resident’s en-suite bathroom.
