The NSW Seniors Festival was recently celebrated across various RFBI villages, and the residents had a great time participating in the activities held in our communities and within our villages.

Residents from RFBI Coffs Harbour Masonic Village recently ventured out to a special luncheon at the local Bellingen Golf Club. The event featured a delicious Chinese meal and entertainment, and one of the residents even won a lucky door prize. The feedback was extremely positive, with residents in particular sharing that they enjoyed the opportunity to socialise together and with others in the club.

Meanwhile, at RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village, the celebrations kicked off with a special morning tea and a fun craft activity we’ll be doing again – flower arranging. Residents really enjoyed getting creative with the flowers and they made some beautiful arrangements for the tables in our community dining room.

Over in RFBI Berry Masonic Village, residents were singing and dancing along to some amazing music from the Kangaleles, a talented nine-piece ukelele band from Kangaroo Valley. The group played classic folk, Irish, and original songs, and the residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance. They are already looking forward to the band playing for them again in the near future.

We’d like to thank our team for preparing some really wonderful activities and helping residents participate in community events for NSW Seniors Festival. The festival is such an important one as it recognises and acknowledges the contribution of seniors to our communities and provides opportunities for them to learn, have fun, make new friends and socialise.
