Wacky Wednesday brings waves of laughter to Basin View
8 Jul 2026The lounge room at RFBI Basin View Masonic Village was transformed into a sea of bright colours, mismatched outfits and funny hats as the community celebrated a highly memorable Wacky Wednesday.
Residents and staff across the village leaned into the fun by dressing up in their wackiest attire for the day. The Leisure & Lifestyle team organised a series of lighthearted, silly games that kept everyone moving, sparking plenty of shared smiles and roaring laughter across the room.
The day became even more special when the talented choir from St Georges Basin Public School arrived to perform. The students fully embraced the theme by wearing their own funny hats and wacky outfits and even their teacher joined in the dress-up fun.
The school choir treated the residents to a beautiful musical performance, which was met with enthusiastic applause. Afterward, the students and residents spent time chatting, sharing stories and laughing about each other’s wacky costumes over a special morning tea.
True wellbeing is about creating spaces for pure, unadulterated fun. At RFBI, we love hosting intergenerational events that bring out the inner child in everyone, fostering a deep sense of belonging, safety and reassurance.
These intergenerational visits are a cherished part of the calendar across all of our villages, helping our residents maintain vibrant connections with the local community while creating wonderful memories with the younger generation.
