Take a moment with Rodney17 Aug 2021
Rodney is one of our wonderful residents in the RFBI Berry Masonic Village – and wow, does he have a few stories to tell.
Born in Suva, Fiji, Rodney made the move to Australia at 14-years-old to attend boarding school. He didn’t see his family for four years when he first arrived. An intelligent man, Rodney fondly remembers his Headmaster at the school and was inspired to continue his education, graduating from the University of Queensland and enjoying an influential career in administration.
Rodney helped to establish the administrations of both Fiji and Papua New Guinea and held the position of Minister for Finance for the Fijian Government.
Our team loves listening to Rodney’s insights that he has gained from his career, the many books he has read, and his time playing polocrosse. Rodney, in turn, loves the company and gets on well with staff and other residents.
“It can be hard to remember everyone’s name, but the people here are so friendly. It is a very nice place to live,” Rodney said.
