Take a moment with Janine

Janine is a familiar face in our RFBI Goulburn Masonic Village. Over 23 years working with us, Janine has developed some amazing relationships with our residents, their families, staff and volunteers. As our Administration Officer, Janine has a lot of contact with visitors to our village, and also helps to ensure the village runs smoothly behind the scenes. She looks after the rostering, invoicing, fees, funding and more.

“Every day is unpredictable and busy. But I enjoy it all! It’s surprising how much satisfaction you receive from working in aged care and being part of the team,” Janine said.

“It is hard to pinpoint a highlight from 23 years, however I still love coming to work every day.”

One of Janine’s fondest memories in the village is the theme days that were arranged for the residents last year. Staff and residents got involved – it was a lot of fun. We also had a great time letting residents shoot us with nerf guns while running around the Christmas tree last festive season.

Janine’s number one piece of advice for anyone considering working in aged care is: “never be afraid to ask questions and be a hands-on participant, not an observer”.
