Take a moment with Isabella3 Aug 2021
All of our staff have unique stories when it comes to the reason they work and have a passion for helping older members of our community. For Isabella, aged care wasn’t the career path she’d initially set out on, but after walking through our doors and working with our team and residents, she’s discovered how meaningful the work is and has never looked back.
Isabella joined our team at RFBI West Wyalong Masonic Village during the COVID-19 restrictions, which forced her out of her previous job. She started by providing cleaning and leisure support, but loved working with residents so much that she’s begun her traineeship in care and is now a Trainee Carer and Lifestyle Officer.
“I love how every day is different. I try to provide stimulation and generally look after our resident’s wellbeing,” Isabella said.
Even after a short time with us, Isabella has developed close connections and friendships with staff, residents and their families.
“When I first started working in aged care, I was unsure if it was the right pathway for me. But as time went by, I built amazing friendships and loved working here. I enjoy every moment, cherish moments, and want to continue my career in aged care.
“My biggest highlight with RFBI has been starting my traineeship and making connections with the residents here.”
She says one of her fondest memories with RFBI so far was during a sing-a-long with residents that led to a lot of laughing, singing and dancing.
Outside of work Isabella enjoys time with her family and friends, and gets a real joy from water-skiing in the summer.
