Take a Moment With… Audrey
22 Oct 2025
At 101 years old, Audrey Douglas continues to prove that passion and curiosity never fade – especially when it comes to rugby league! Audrey, who has lived at RFBI Raleigh Urunga Masonic Village for 10 years, recently won the village’s footy tipping competition for the fourth year in a row. Known for her sharp insights and friendly banter, Audrey brings warmth and humour to every conversation.
A lifelong sports fan, Audrey’s love for the game began over 30 years ago in Mackay, where friends at her local bowls club introduced her to rugby league. These days, she follows the Melbourne Storm, admiring players like Harry Grant and Cameron Munster, and never misses a game if she can help it.
When asked her secret to success Audrey laughs, “I usually tip the home team – it makes a big difference!”
Beyond her tipping talents, Audrey is admired by fellow residents and staff for her positivity, love of learning and vibrant outlook on life. She enjoys chatting about sport, listening to audiobooks and sharing stories with those around her.
Audrey’s enthusiasm is contagious. She brings people together, whether it’s through footy talk or simply her warm smile.
Congratulations Audrey on another incredible win!
