Take A Moment With… Anu from our Global Citizen Experience Program

Sonia Lim 15 Jun 2022

We are proud to facilitate the opportunity for registered nurses living overseas to come to Australia, learn aged care practices in our country and expand and grow their career and skillsets. Anu is one of around 100 people we are recruiting as part of our Global Citizen Experience Program, delivered in partnership with Key 2 Learning.

Anu came to join our program as a means of obtaining her nursing registration, which was proving difficult in her home country of India. She is working as a Carer in our RFBI West Wyalong Masonic Village whilst receiving hands-on experience and studying a Certificate III in Individual Support that will assist her to complete the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) registration process.

“Aged care offers a great scope for career growth. RFBI is allowing me to pursue my dream to achieve my nursing registration whilst improving my English and getting to know the Australian healthcare system in a better way. I love working in aged care, it gives me so much satisfaction,” Anu shared.

Anu had worked as a registered nurse in India for four years prior to joining our program. Her early career saw her working in emergency medicine, so helping those patients to return back to their normal lives after facing a severe health issue was a source of satisfaction for Anu.

The program is giving Anu the opportunity to improve her knowledge and skillsets on the job, excel her career, and experience Australian culture.

We are continuing to welcome more staff to our Global Citizen Experience Program. To find out more about what the program entails, visit https://rfbi.com.au/news/partnership-with-key-2-learning/
