Sweet success at RFBI Dubbo Masonic Village bake sale

There was no shortage of smiles, music or sweet treats at RFBI Dubbo Masonic Village on the day of their much-anticipated Bake Sale fundraiser and thanks to the incredible generosity of all involved, the event raised a remarkable $1,650.75 for RFBI’s Benevolence Program and Annuity Scheme.

The village came to life as residents, staff, volunteers and members of the local community gathered to enjoy a day filled with laughter, homemade goodies and heartfelt connection. Stalls were brimming with a delicious assortment of treats lovingly prepared by the community, including rocky road, chocolate crackles, Russian fudge, jam drop biscuits, warm cinnamon rolls, passionfruit slice, honey joys, lolly jars and beautifully decorated cupcakes created by our residents.

Live music by the talented Gwen Baldock filled the room with warmth and joy, as she played guitar and sang for guests throughout the event. We were also proud to acknowledge our long-standing volunteer of 8 years, Gary, who presented a generous $200 donation on behalf of the Orana Country Music Association, a contribution that was gratefully received.

Excitement continued with a community raffle featuring wonderful prizes, including a signed Penrith Panthers NRL jersey by Isaah Yeo. The lucky winner, Deidre—wife of resident Richard—was overjoyed and shared that she planned to gift the jersey to her grandson.

When the fundraising total was announced, the room erupted with cheers and applause. Residents and guests alike were proud of what had been achieved together. A true testament to the power of community.

“This incredible result wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity of our community. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who baked, donated, entertained and supported the event. Together, we’ve made a real difference,” said Delwyn Gates, General Manager at RFBI Dubbo Masonic Village.
