In a delightful outing that combined the magic of live theatre with the warmth of community connections, residents of RFBI Armidale Masonic Village were recently treated to a special production of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Hosted by local school, the Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC), residents were overjoyed by the music and performance on stage.

Beyond singing along to familiar tunes, the highlight of the day came after the show when residents had the pleasure of meeting the talented cast. It was a delightful surprise that added a personal touch to the experience, allowing residents to express their appreciation directly to the performers. The girls from the school shared that they had been diligently practicing since Easter for this special play, and the residents of RFBI Armidale Masonic Village were among the first in town to witness their outstanding performance.

The relationship between RFBI Armidale and the PLC girls extends beyond this event. Annually, the PLC girls dedicate their volunteer week to the village, engaging in various activities such as decorating and spending quality time with the residents, and  also offer performances throughout the year.

The festive season is no exception, as the girls are gearing up to deliver three Christmas performances for residents in December, further cementing the strong and positive connection between the village and the school community.
