Sights, heights and coastal breezes
5 Feb 2026At RFBI Coffs Harbour Masonic Village, Thursday mornings are all about adventure. By 10:00 am sharp, the village bus is loaded with excited residents ready to explore the beautiful landscape we call home.
These weekly excursions are a vital part of our lifestyle program, providing residents with a change of scenery, fresh air and the opportunity to stay connected with the local community in which many residents grew up. One of our recent trips was particularly special as we headed for the clouds.
The destination was the iconic Sealy Lookout Skywalk. It was a breathtaking morning as residents walked out onto the skywalk, taking in the panoramic views of the city, the coastline and the hinterland. Being up in the cloud provided a fresh perspective on our beautiful region and sparked plenty of conversation about how much Coffs Harbour has grown over the years.
After soaking in the heights, it was time for the sights of the water. The group headed down to the Coffs Harbour Jetty for morning tea. There is nothing quite like the sea breeze and the sound of the ocean to bring smiles to faces and it provided the perfect setting for a relaxed social catch-up over a cuppa.
No trip is complete without a great driver, and a huge thank you goes to Paul, who ensured the journey was as interesting as the destination. Paul took the scenic route back to the village, giving everyone a front-row seat to the progress of the new highway works – a topic of great interest for our local history buffs!
By 12:00 pm, the group was back home in time for lunch, with spirits high and plenty of stories to share from their morning in the sky.
