At RFBI, we believe that excellence in aged care starts with people who truly care. This year, as part of our 2025 Showcase Awards, we are proud to recognise Chris Elward, Hospitality Supervisor at RFBI Bathurst Masonic Village, as a finalist in our 2025 RFBI Cook/Chef of the Year category.

Whether it’s covering shifts at short notice, working doubles or ensuring that every meal meets the highest standards, Chris is someone the team and residents can always count on.

His leadership in the kitchen fosters a supportive, high-performing team environment. Chris acts as a mentor to his colleagues, encouraging excellence and teamwork and setting a strong example through his consistent work ethic and attention to detail.

He listens, responds and adapts, ensuring meals are not only nutritious and beautifully presented but also tailored to suit individual tastes and dietary needs. His creativity shines during special events and cultural celebrations, where he helps transform meals into meaningful experiences for residents.

Chris is one of 21 finalists who will be honoured at the 2025 Showcase Awards Evening in Sydney this September, where the winners will be celebrated among peers and industry leaders.
