Serving Up a Great Catering Experience13 Feb 2019
Food brings people together and at RFBI we recognise the importance of good food to the overall well-being and happiness of our residents. We held our 1st Catering Conference at Dubbo Masonic Village and brought together our Catering Managers for a 2-day workshop. Our goal was to showcase our current service program and discuss initiatives being explored to raise the standard and deliver the very best dining and food experience to our residents.
Over the last few years, RFBI has been working hard to transform the dining experience for our residents. RFBI serves more than 7,500 meals each day and we recognize that good nutrition plays an important role in good health. We are proud to offer our residents freshly made meals every day with high quality ingredients and a focus on nutritious food that they love. However, enjoying a meal is not only about the food but also the ambience and presentation. In our Villages, you will see new clothing protectors, replacing bibs and standardised high quality crockery that includes ‘invisible’ assistance for those with dexterity issues to support maximum resident dignity.
RFBI has a team that is focused on preparing food with love, care and a passion for quality. The conference was an avenue to network and plan for a better future. Demonstrations showed teams how to maximise equipment we were using and embrace new technology for our future. There were opportunity to discuss the challenges we faced and practical ways to deliver and improve our customer services. The team also started a discussion for a centralised menu plan which will enable more efficiencies across RFBI.
Aged care is a big change and at RFBI, we want people to feel confident that they or their loved one will be able to continue to enjoy food they have always loved when they come to live at our Villages.
