Scones, stories and smiles in Goulburn
17 Jun 2026The dining room at RFBI Goulburn Masonic Village was filled with warmth, nostalgia and the delicious aroma of freshly baked treats this week as the community gathered for a very special cause – to enjoy a morning tea whilst raising funds for cancer research.
The fundraising morning tea was wonderfully attended by residents from both the Retirement Living community and the Residential Care Villages. One of the absolute highlights of the day was seeing residents who previously lived in the Retirement Living community catching up with their old neighbours, laughing together and reminiscing about old times.
Everyone who attended expressed how meaningful the cause was, with many in the room having been touched by cancer in some way during their lifetime.
The event was also a brilliant showcase for the village Catering team. The feedback from the crowd was unanimous, the food was absolutely delicious. The freshly made scones prepared by talented village Chef Birage were a massive hit and kept the conversation flowing well into the afternoon.
