RFBI villages sparkle in annual Christmas window display competition

The Christmas spirit has officially landed across RFBI Villages, transforming common areas and resident wings into dazzling, festive wonderlands for our highly anticipated Annual Christmas Window Display Competition.

This beloved yearly tradition sees staff and residents team up to design and construct elaborate decorative window displays, bringing light, colour and boundless creativity to their communities.

This year’s competition featured a spectacular array of themes, showcasing the incredible teamwork and imagination of our residents and staff. Each village brought their unique flair, resulting in a true spectacle of holiday cheer:

• Winter wonderlands: several villages embraced the magic of a white Christmas, crafting elaborate snow scenes complete with icy textures, twinkling fairy lights and frosty fir trees.
• The sweetest displays: Following the success of our Christmas Card Competition theme, some villages delighted viewers with enchanting ‘candy land’ displays, which were a fitting reference to the theme.
• Classic charm: traditionalists excelled with beautiful renditions of Christmas tree forests and cosy scenes of Santa’s workshop, using rich colours and textures to evoke that timeless holiday nostalgia.

The Christmas Window Display Competition is much more than a visual contest. It is a powerful exercise in community building and resident engagement. The process of planning, sourcing materials and constructing the displays encourages teamwork, cognitive engagement and brings cheer to residents as well as guests to the villages.

Judges have the difficult task of scoring the windows based on originality, effort, use of materials and overall festive impact. The passion and dedication shown by all participants make choosing a winner incredibly challenging!
