RFBI Kurri Kurri Masonic Village held a Open Day and Men’s Health Expo on Wednesday 23 March to welcome the Men’s Health Education Rural Van (MHERV) to Hunter. We were honoured to have Meryl Swanson MP and Councillor Rosa Grine from Cessnock City Council join us at the event as we discussed the importance of men’s health. We were also delighted to have Scott Mitcherson from Meditation for Men share some effective strategies to manage mental health.

MHERV is one of the important initiatives RFBI supports and provides funds to have a registered nurse travel with the van throughout NSW to provide free health checks. Since this program commenced in 2017, MHERV has visited over 100 communities and provided more than 10,000 free health checks.

Guests at the event marveled at the beautiful classic cars brought to our Village by the Newcastle Vintage and Classic Car Club, were entertained by The Bluewater Cowboys and the Eagles Rock Dance Club and enjoyed hot dogs with sausages generously donated by our local butcher, Ian.

We thank everyone for being part of this day.

If you missed out on this event and would like to find out more about MHERV and how you can help keep this vital service on the road, visit https://rfbi.com.au//donate-to-help-a-mate/.
