There’s something powerful about stepping into someone else’s world for a day.

That’s exactly what RFBI’s Corporate Partners Volunteer Week is all about; giving our business partners the opportunity to experience life inside an aged care village, not from a boardroom or project plan, but through real conversations, shared moments and meaningful human connection.

Held from 18 to 22 May during National Volunteer Week, the initiative saw 50 representatives from partner organisations volunteer across RFBI villages, spending time with residents and staff while gaining a deeper understanding of daily life in aged care.

Originally launched in 2018, the program was created in response to corporate partners wanting a stronger connection to the work RFBI does.

RFBI Chief Executive Officer Frank Price said the initiative helped turn partnerships into meaningful experiences.

“Our partners support RFBI in many ways and this program brings that support to life,” Mr Price said.

“Spending time in our villages helped our partners better understand the realities of aged care, while residents benefited from genuine engagement and new relationships.”

Mel Gholami, Managing Director of Planix Projects, said the experience offered valuable insight into the impact these environments have on residents and staff.

Coinciding with National Volunteer Week, the initiative reflected RFBI’s commitment to community-focused care and partnerships built on empathy, understanding and shared purpose.

RFBI welcomed individuals interested in making a difference in the lives of older Australians to explore volunteer opportunities and become part of its caring community. Click here to find out more.
