7th APAC AwardRFBI is delighted to be nominated as finalist in the “Innovation of the Year – Food and Nutrition” category for the 7th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards. The awards honour organisations across the Asia Pacific who are using innovative initiatives to support the health and wellbeing of older people across the region.

We are proud to have been shorted listed for our Dining with Dignity program and the two new dining aids we have recently introduced to improve the dining experience for our residents.

Our new crockery offers “invisible” assistance to enhance the dining experience of our residents with limited dexterity. Lipped plates and no tip mugs have replaced plastic dining equipment and all residents now use the same crockery, creating a much more social and enjoyable dining experience for all.

We have also introduced new fashionable clothing protectors to replace outdated bibs. Designed to look like a scarf or lapel cover, these clothing protectors can be used by both men and women and are effective in keeping clothes pristine without unwanted attention (real or perceived) of their need for support.

These simple changes have had substantial benefits for our residents both physically and mentally and made a huge impact on their quality of life.

Winners in each of 20 categories will be announced on 15 May in Singapore at the 10th International Ageing Asia Innovation Forum.
