Resident’s homemade apple pies are a hit for all
10 Jun 2022Residents in our RFBI Raleigh Urunga Masonic Village have been busy baking delicious apple pies! There was no such thing as too many cooks in the kitchen when it came to preparing the pies, with residents coming together to take on different parts of the preparation. Some residents prepared ingredients or rolled out the pastry, whilst others prepared the pie filling and cut out the pastry to layer on top. Perhaps the most important role was the person overseeing the recipe instructions.
Our Catering and Leisure & Lifestyle teams regularly organise baking, cooking and food decorating experiences for residents. Many of our residents enjoyed cooking for many years, and we want to keep that passion alive! We also know that cooking is a wonderful activity that can help improve resident hand and eye coordination, creativity, social connection and cause general feelings of joy and achievement.
The tasty food enjoyed at the end is always a treat!
