Piece by piece: Lillian’s 1,000-piece triumph
20 Feb 2026The greatest achievements often come from patience, persistence and a little bit of community spirit. RFBI Goulburn Masonic Village resident Lillian recently proved this by conquering a massive 1,000-piece challenge.
If you’ve passed through the Wattle loungeroom over the last three weeks, you likely saw 90-year-old Lillian hard at work. With a sharp eye for detail and an incredible amount of focus, Lillian took on the daunting task of assembling a complex 1,000-piece jigsaw puzzle.
While Lillian was the driving force behind the project, the puzzle table became a wonderful social hub for the village. Between her dedicated sessions, Lillian enjoyed the company and occasional helping hand from our Leisure & Lifestyle team, visiting family members and fellow residents who couldn’t resist stopping by to see the progress.
The idea for the puzzle actually originated from one of our Resident Meetings, highlighting how our community works together to bring new interests and activities into the village.
Lillian’s puzzle journey didn’t end with the final piece of the first set. Proving that age is just a number and a sharp mind never rests, she has already commenced her second 1,000-piece puzzle!
In the true spirit of the Goulburn village, Lillian has extended an open invitation to anyone walking by: if you see a piece that fits, pull up a chair and join in.
Congratulations, Lillian on your fantastic achievement. We are all looking forward to seeing the next masterpiece take shape in the Wattle room!
