When it comes to the Olympic sports that our residents are most passionate about watching and cheering for, it’s tough to find one that they all agree on. There are 33 sports and 46 disciplines featuring in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, and our residents have a passion for many of them.

So to celebrate an event that we can all enjoy as a nation and to see which sport really is the most loved, our Leisure and Lifestyle team at RFBI Holt Masonic Village threw a special Olympic sports afternoon.

Residents were invited to compete in a selection of popular sports and activities, including archery (target practice), soccer, tennis, volleyball (or seated balloon volleyball) and athletics (the popular egg and spoon race).

There were some serious contenders who had clearly been training for this day, and quite a few walked away with a gold, silver or bronze medal awarded at an official medal ceremony.

The afternoon brought out everyone’s competitive spirit and was a fun way for the residents to enjoy the Olympics from a little closer to home!
