Every year we look forward to celebrating National Grandparent’s Day. This is a time when we come together to honour and celebrate the wonderful grandparents, grand-friends, and all those who hold a grandparent-like place in our hearts. These individuals enrich our lives with their wisdom, love, and laughter, making every moment spent with them a cherished memory.

This year to celebrate RFBI Cessnock Masonic Village residents enjoyed some very special visitors. They were joined by 15 preschoolers from Community Kids Cessnock, whose infectious energy and boundless curiosity brought an extra layer of joy to the festivities.

Together, they embarked on a delightful adventure, hosting a special Teddy Bears Picnic that will be remembered for years to come. The air was filled with giggles, and the atmosphere buzzed with the excitement of young hearts connecting with seasoned souls over crafts and yummy food.

The picnic spread was a delightful array of scrumptious treats, carefully prepared to cater to both young and young-at-heart palates. As the residents and preschoolers shared stories and laughter, it was evident that the magic of intergenerational connections was at play.

But that’s not all – the day was also marked by a creative outpouring as the residents and preschoolers engaged in crafts, producing beautiful mementos that captured the essence of their time together.

The experience was such a hit that the decision was made to extend the invitation, making these visits a monthly tradition. This promises to be a wonderful opportunity for both the residents and the preschoolers to continue building meaningful relationships that will last a lifetime.
