Meet the finalists for RFBI’s 2026 Team of the Year Award

Great care is never delivered by one person alone. It takes teams who support one another, share a commitment to excellence and work together to create better experiences for the people we serve.

As part of the 2026 RFBI Showcase Awards, we’re proud to celebrate three outstanding teams named finalists for the Team of the Year Award.

This award recognises teams whose collaboration, professionalism and commitment make a meaningful difference to residents and clients, while bringing RFBI’s values to life every day.

Care at Home Admin Team – Care at Home North Hub

The Care at Home North Hub Admin Team is a small but incredibly dedicated team made up of Lynda Jessop, Brigitte Mackenzie, Catherine Sarip and Kate Fisher.

Working with a high level of independence, the team consistently goes above and beyond to ensure participants receive the care and support they need. When staffing challenges arise, they have stepped outside their usual office-based roles to provide hands-on personal care rather than allowing services to be cancelled.

They also advocate strongly for participants, find creative solutions to meet individual needs and support families through complex situations, including palliative care. What truly sets the team apart is the trust, positivity and willingness to support one another that they bring to everything they do.

Catering Team – RFBI Concord Community Village

The Catering Team at RFBI Concord Community Village has transformed mealtimes into opportunities for connection, celebration and joy.

Since January 2026, the team has delivered its monthly “Travel the World Through Food” initiative, taking residents on a culinary journey through different countries and cultures. From Australian favourites to Chinese New Year and St Patrick’s Day celebrations, each experience features themed menus, decorations, music and restaurant-style presentation.

Importantly, the team ensures every resident can participate, adapting meals to individual dietary, cultural and texture-modified requirements without compromising presentation or dignity. Residents now look forward to each monthly experience, while families have shared positive feedback about the joy these occasions bring to their loved ones.

Registered Nurse Team – RFBI West Wyalong Masonic Village

The Registered Nurse Team at RFBI West Wyalong Masonic Village brings together nine clinicians who consistently demonstrate clinical excellence, teamwork and genuine compassion.

The team is highly regarded by residents, families and visiting health professionals for their responsive care, clear communication and strong clinical knowledge. They identify changes in residents’ health early, provide high-quality wound care, coordinate allied health referrals and work closely with GPs, pharmacists and families to ensure care is safe and well coordinated.

They also play an important role in palliative care, working with the wider village team to ensure residents are comfortable and treated with dignity while supporting families through difficult moments.

Their diverse backgrounds, strong camaraderie and commitment to supporting one another have created a positive and inclusive team culture — demonstrating that exceptional care is built on both clinical expertise and genuine teamwork.

From supporting people to remain at home, to creating memorable dining experiences and delivering outstanding clinical care, these three teams demonstrate the many ways teamwork can make a difference.

Congratulations to the Care at Home North Hub Admin Team, Concord Catering Team and West Wyalong Registered Nurse Team on being named finalists for Team of the Year.
