Meet Leeton’s dingle dangle scarecrow – Jumpin Jack
19 Nov 2021The lockdowns across Australia had a big effect on agricultural shows this year, meaning organisers had to be a little creative to bring the fun and joy of the annual show to the community in 2021. As a result, organisers invented the No Show Scarecrow campaign.
Our RFBI Leeton Masonic Village residents and staff participated in the Leeton No Show Scarecrow competition, which encouraged community members to build scarecrows for display around town as an acknowledgement of the show and a sign of solidarity of the show network across the country.
Our residents and staff got crafty and created Jumpin Jack, who likes to use one of our walkers to get around. Over two weeks we created this friendly fellow together, even enjoying a dance to ‘Dingle dangle scarecrow’ while we did it and sharing stories from our childhood about the shows we attended.
Did you create a scarecrow too? We’d love to see it – share your creation with us on our Facebook page.
