There is no place like home and many older Australians hope to preserve their freedom and independence, living in the familiar surroundings of their own homes for as long as possible. Our Care at Home team supports our clients to do this by providing a range of care and services that ensure they remain independent and live the life they chose.

“My role as a Care at Home Officer is very fulfilling. I am able to provide seniors with the support they need to remain independent and provide a listening ear when needed,” said carer Leititia.

Every individual is different and unique. That is why Debbie, our Care at Home Administration Coordinator takes the time to get to know each client, assists them in designing a personalised suite of services and matches them to right team of carers and makes sure they receive the best value for their home care package.

“We do our best to match our carers and clients, so that each client can enjoy regular services from a small team. Knowing that they will have a familiar face supporting them is extremely comforting to our clients.”

Jennifer added, “There are a lot of benefits that come from being able to remain living at home. I’m so happy to have created wonderful friendships with our clients and be able to put smiles on their faces.”

A day in the life of a Care at Home Officer can be busy with lots of interaction with different people. Leititia shared how a social drive with her client one day became an unexpected adventure.

“We ended up getting lost because she had taken me on an unfamiliar route, it was a fun experience,” she laughed.

Being a Care at Home team member is a rewarding job and for many, a hard one hard not to fall in love with as evidenced from these quotes from some of our team;

“I love the team I work with. We all communicate with each other really well. I’m glad to work with a team that always listens to our needs,” Heather.

“The most surprising thing about working in aged care is how appreciated I am as a person, even if I am only helping someone with the smallest of things,” Corina.

Heather added, “I love that I am genuinely making a difference to people’s lives.”
