Lakemba residents celebrate the Lunar New Year

Our residents at RFBI Lakemba Masonic Village have welcomed in the Chinese Lunar New Year in style.

The event that occurred on 1 February welcomes the beginning of a new year in East Asian culture based around moon cycles or the lunar calendar.

Our Leisure & Lifestyle team organised traditional Chinese cultural celebrations with red and gold themes throughout. Our amazing Catering Team prepared a delicious high tea of dumplings and spring rolls.

Our residents were gifted lucky money – red envelopes containing a gold coin to anchor the new year. The envelopes are a Chinese tradition designed to pass on a year of good fortune and blessings to the recipient. And we wish our residents all the best for the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Tiger.

We had a wonderful time celebrating and look forward to what this year brings.
