Kindness week at RFBI West Wyalong Masonic Village

RFBI West Wyalong Masonic Village was recently invited to participate in their local primary school’s ‘Kindness Week’ as the school teaches their students to always ‘Choose Kindness’. It was such a great initiative and that our teams at the Village were immediately onboard and invited students from the school to visit.

It was a wonderful week for both residents and students who participated in a variety of activities together. Scrapbooking, a performance by the school’s Instrumental Group were some of the fun entertainment everyone had but it was teaching the children how to knit at the residents’ weekly ‘Knit and Knatter’ group that was the highlight of the week.

Residents have not stopped talking about their special week with the students and we were excited to hear positive feedback from the teachers that the students had a great time and is excited to come back for another visit!

Intergenerational care programs have been proven to enhance the overall well-being of both the young and the old. At RFBI, our lifestyle teams work closely with learning centres and public schools in the local community to bring children and residents together giving them the opportunity to learn from and connect with an older generation.
