We are fortunate to have residents, staff and volunteers across our villages who come from a blend of cultures. Multiculturalism and celebrating the different events that our residents acknowledge and look forward to each year is an ingrained part of our annual activities calendar.

Diwali is India’s largest and most significant holiday of the year, so our residents and staff decided to celebrate the Hindu festival of the lights recently this month.

Our RFBI Holt Masonic Village acknowledged Diwali during our regular happy hour by playing Indian and Nepalese music for residents to dance to. We had some tasty Indian finger food and staff dressed in traditional women’s Indian attire.

The residents loved the bright colours of the traditional Indian dress and enjoyed dancing to the music together. It was a wonderful celebration of an event that encourages fun between family and friends.
