Residents have been showing us a thing or two in the kitchen.

We have some brilliant cooks and bakers in our villages who still enjoy the rewarding experience of creating, decorating and serving food themselves.

Residents in our RFBI Holt Masonic Village enjoyed cooking biscuits and then spending the afternoon decorating them. The cookies (which were delicious by the way) were so unique in style based on the resident’s preferred decoration approach. There was some serious concentration happening in the dining room.

Baking and decorating food offers numerous benefits to residents, including reducing feelings of stress, triggering happy memories of baking whilst growing up, encouraging creativity, improving hand-eye coordination and bringing residents together socially.

Plus everyone enjoys their hard work at the end of the day!
