Regarded as one of the most significant cultural and music icons of the 20th century, Elvis Presley has held a special place in the hearts of many of our residents and staff. His songs trigger memories of some of the wonderful experiences of their pasts.

So it seemed fitting to celebrate his birthday earlier this month. Our RFBI Hawkins Masonic Village team really rose to the occasion by organising a special morning tea in recognition of the king of rock. The catering crew prepared toasted peanut and butter sandwiches and chilled glasses of Pepsi (both favourites of the rock star) to enjoy whilst listening to Elvis’ best hits.

Residents completed Elvis themed craft – creating table centrepieces from old records. They were simply marvellous creations.

We finished the day off with one of Elvis’ wonderful on-screen experiences.

Happy birthday Elvis.
