Our avid Gardening Club in RFBI Bellingen Masonic Village has been busy tending to our thriving gardens as we come into spring. The club’s latest endeavours

A recent gardening session saw a trio of skilled gardeners—Rex, Alan, and Peter —roll up their sleeves to transform the raised garden beds. Weeding, watering, and carefully staking the towering flowers is a labour of love for the three, who spent the time tending the garden and sharing stories with one another For Rex in particular, gardening is more than just a pastime. This was a chance to contribute and make a difference in the village, while really lighting up his day.

And the enthusiasm doesn’t stop there. Following a successful gardening venture the previous week, a sunny day beckoned more residents to their cherished garden patches. Together residents tenderly tied ribbons around the now-tall stock flowers, tending to the beds with dedication and showering the plants with the care they deserve. The pure joy radiating from the residents while tending to their gardens was truly heartwarming.

Even Ruta, a guest on respite, joined in the nurturing spirit by picking up a watering can and contributing her touch to the garden’s flourishing canvas. The camaraderie and happiness shared in these moments exemplify the spirit of RFBI Bellingen Masonic Village—a place where connections blossom as beautifully as the flowers themselves.

Looking forward, plans are already underway to expand the gardening activity to include the other raised beds downstairs in September.
