Creative expression and participation in creative experiences offers wonderful benefits to our residents. We incorporate creative activities into our day-to-day schedules to inspire residents to think outside of the box, consider new ideas, use their hands and minds and socialise with other residents and staff. We also find that participation in creative activities is extremely worthwhile for our resident’s mental health and wellbeing, as it can improve their mood, boost self-esteem, increase their cognitive function and reduce stress and anxiety.

Our RFBI Goulburn Masonic Village residents have been particularly crafty lately, with many of their creations found throughout the village. Our Leisure & Lifestyle team pre-prepared craft sets for residents to make their own colourfully painted spiders and pasta jewellery. Residents very proudly wore or decorated the village with their creations.

We had a fantastic turnout of people who wanted to be involved and were thrilled to see how much concentration and care went into each craft activity.
