There is a unique kind of joy that comes from the kitchen – the smell of rising dough, the flour-dusted counters and the anticipation of a meal made by hand. Recently, residents in RFBI Moonbi Masonic Village took over the kitchen for a series of high-energy cooking classes.

The program featured two very different but equally popular sessions: a savoury homemade pizza class and scroll making class.

The pizza-making session saw residents turn into pizzaiolos for the day. There was an incredible buzz of excitement as everyone selected their favourite toppings, from classic ham and pineapple to gourmet veggie delights. For many, it was a chance to experiment with new flavors, while for others, it was about the simple satisfaction of creating their own pizza from scratch.

Following the success of the pizza day, the village shifted gears to a sweet scroll making class.  This session leaned into the nostalgia of traditional baking. Under the guidance of our Leisure & Lifestyle and Catering Teams, residents created delicious, sweet scrolls.

These culinary experiences are a wonderful way to foster community and a sense of accomplishment, with residents finding so much satisfaction from creating their own food.

The best part of both classes? Sitting down together at the end to enjoy the fruits of our labour!
