Every day I Love You14 Feb 2020
“I love you.” These are the words Geoff and Joy Wilton, residents at RFBI Benhome Masonic Village say to each other every day.
Geoff Wilton, 96 and his wife Joy, 97 have been married for over 50 years and never left a day go by without reaffirming their love for each other.
Joy was born and bred in Maitland and Geoff a native of Scone. The pair had known each other for years as Geoff’s sister lived next door to Joy in Tenambit. Both been married previously but lost their partners under sad circumstances.
Since getting married on New Year’s Day in 1970, between them they now have seven children, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The one advice they would give other couples on this universal day of love is … “Be honest with each other, keep no secrets and say I love you at the end of the day,” they said.
This Valentine’s Day, the lovely couple will be attending a special high tea together with other residents at the Village.
Across NSW and ACT, RFBI Villages celebrate special occasions through a variety of activities to help our resident create happy memories. To read more stories of fun activities organised by our local teams, visit https://rfbi.com.au/news-events/
