Doing our bit to help our local community7 Feb 2020
Russell Brennan, Hotel Services Officer at RFBI Cessnock Masonic Village had heard that donations for Broke Rural Fire Brigade were stolen and wanted to do his part to help. Last week, he organised a special bingo night, an activity our residents love, to help raise funds to assist the brigade to get back on their feet.
Cessnock Leagues Club had generously donated all the bingo cards for the event, which raised just over $1,000.
On Tuesday 4th February, members of the Broke Rural Fire Brigade were invited to the Village where Paul Myers, Captain of the Brigade graciously the funds raised. He had expressed his gratitude to Russell, our staff and residents and said that these funds will definitely be put to good use.
At RFBI, being connected to our local village communities is core to who we are. We are proud to continue our legacy of helping people in need of financial assistance locally as well as through our Benevolence Program.
