It’s not every day you see a horse walking around an aged care village. However, residents at RFBI Goulburn Masonic Village were recently treated to a furry visitor – miniature therapy horse, Danny D.

We regularly welcome pets and animals into our villages as we believe they provide therapeutic benefits and can lead to improved health, happiness and wellbeing for residents. The wag of a tail, a little neigh or some soft feathers to fluff have been proven by research to reduce blood pressure and fatigue and boost happiness, physical activity and social wellbeing.

So Danny D was a welcome visitor to our Goulburn community.

It was wonderful to see the smiles Danny brought as he walked the halls and popped in to visit residents in their rooms. Many residents stopped to pat him and said they loved having Danny D visit.
