Creating the great beauties of the sea12 Aug 2019
The Men’s Shed team at RFBI Lake Haven Masonic Village attended the Whale Dreamers Festival last month. It was a festival that brings together the community to raise awareness for the plight of whales, hear about their wonder, raise fund for conservation and research projects about whales and actively participate in their conservation.
For many months, the Men’s Shed had been busy working on some fantastic wooden creation and were extremely excited to be able to show off their handiwork. Some of these items included a whale-shaped wooden serving platter, which could also be used as a chopping board, bookends, wall hangers and so much more!
They were thrilled by the interest shown by visitors at the festival and were pleased to sell many of their items. The highlight was when Jane Smith, Mayor of the Central Coast Council popped by for a visit.
This was the festival’s 14th year and member of the Lake Haven Men’s Shed were pleased to be invited back next year!
