Residents across our villages love getting their hands messy during our creative art activities. Our Leisure & Lifestyle Officers organise a range of crafts, from sewing and knitting, to woodwork, paper craft and more.

Recently our RFBI Tamworth Masonic Village invited experienced and inspiring Indigenous artist, Jodie to facilitate a painting learning and creativity activity for residents. Aboriginal art is a unique platform for self-expression around identity, culture, relationship to Country and spirituality. Residents were thrilled to be able to try it for themselves.

A range of tools and paints were supplied to residents and Jodie took us through how to use each to create the desired effect. She also shared the story of The Emu In The Sky, which was the focus of the artwork residents created.

Residents were guided step-by-step by Jodie to create their own interpretation of the artwork on canvas.

The final pieces are inspiring. Residents are proud of their creations and thankful for Jodie and her time.
