The vibrant sounds and flavours of the East arrived at RFBI Concord Community Village as we celebrated Chinese New Year through our popular Travel the World program.

The village was transformed with festive decorations and traditional music, setting the stage for a sophisticated Chinese fine dining experience. The highlight of the luncheon was a special visit from the God of Wealth, who moved through the room bringing blessings of prosperity and good fortune to our residents for the Year of the Horse.

Following the gourmet meal, residents were treated to a live performance featuring iconic Chinese musical instruments, including the guzheng (zither) and the erhu (two-stringed fiddle). The elegant, flowing melodies created a serene atmosphere, sparking curiosity and appreciation for the rich history of Chinese artistry.

It was wonderful to see residents, staff and leadership sitting together, sharing a meal and enjoying the cultural exchange.

Our Travel the World program is about more than food – it’s about honoring the diverse backgrounds of our residents and fostering a spirit of global friendship right here at home.
