Celebrating the creativity of 2025’s Christmas Card Competition winners
5 Dec 2025There is a special kind of magic that happens when art meets community. Over the past few weeks, the RFBI team has been lucky enough to witness it firsthand during our annual Christmas Card Competition award roadshow.
Our team has been clocking up the kilometres, travelling across our regions to visit 35 participating schools to personally present this year’s talented winners with their well-deserved prizes. This year’s theme, “Christmas Candy Land,” sparked an incredible wave of imagination and meeting the young, creative minds in local schools, daycares and preschools who were behind these vibrant designs has been a truly heartwarming experience.
One of the highlights of the roadshow took place at RFBI Coffs Harbour Masonic Village, where the prize presentation turned into a full festive celebration. We were honoured to welcome students from Ulong Public School, who made the long trip down the mountain specifically to perform for the residents.
The students delighted the audience with a wonderful choir featuring a selection of Christmas songs that had everyone smiling. After the performance, students and residents shared a lovely morning tea together, trading stories and holiday wishes before the students headed back home. It was a beautiful reminder of how art and music can bring different generations together.
It was a joy to see the pride on the students’ faces as they were officially recognised for their artistic achievements. Each winning student was presented with:
- A $100 Visa gift card to celebrate their hard work.
- A set of 20 professionally printed copies of their very own card design to share with family and friends.
- A commemorative certificate marking their success in the 2025 competition.
The support also extended to the classrooms; we were delighted to present each winning school with a $50 gift card to help support their future art programs and replenish creative supplies.
While the prizes are exciting, the true heart of this competition – which RFBI has proudly run since 2014 – is the connection it creates. Seeing the residents’ faces light up when they see the finished, printed cards is a testament to the power of intergenerational engagement. These cards don’t just carry holiday greetings; they carry a sense of community, joy and the vibrant energy of the younger generation into our villages.
An initiative of this scale is only possible with the support of our local educators and families. We extend a huge thank you to the teachers, students and parents who welcomed us so warmly into their classrooms and assemblies for our Christmas Card Competition.
