At RFBI, we believe in the richness that cultural diversity brings to our village communities. Recently, we had the pleasure of hosting a Multicultural Day in RFBI Kurri Kurri Masonic Village, a vibrant celebration that showcased the diverse backgrounds of our staff and provided residents with an immersive experience into the cultures that make up our team.

Our dedicated Lifestyle Officer, Virginia, had harboured the idea of a Multicultural Day for quite some time, and her dream finally came to life. Virginia, who hails from the Philippines, was eager to share her heritage with village residents. We also recently welcomed new staff who were born in Nepal, India and the Philippines as well, so we wanted to share the rich cultural tapestry within the village with residents.

Virgina organised a special performance by Filipino dancers, who were adorned in traditional clothing. The residents had the opportunity to learn about the significance of the attire and the cultural context behind the dance.

In addition to the captivating dance performance, residents indulged in the flavours of traditional Filipino cooking. The aroma of spices and the sizzle of delicious dishes filled the air, creating a sensory journey that delighted the taste buds and brought the essence of Filipino cuisine to Kurri Kurri.

The Multicultural Day was more than just a one-time event; it was a celebration of the diverse backgrounds that make up our team and the broader RFBI community. Through such initiatives, we aim to create a welcoming environment where residents can not only learn about different cultures but also feel a sense of belonging within our diverse community.
