Many of us have spent time over the past few weeks watching our Australian legends compete on an international stage at the Tokyo Olympic Games 2020. The Olympics are always a great event for bringing people together, developing comradeship, and cheering for one goal.

Which is why our Leisure & Lifestyle team at RFBI Basin View Masonic Village decided to throw a special Olympics event to bring the experience home to our residents.

We hosted an in-house Tokyo Olympic Games 2020 Opening Ceremony, complete with the torch relay, with the torch being carried by a number of our residents down the hallways of the village, and the lighting of the Olympic flame.

To bring the excitement of the Olympic sports into the village, we set up a game of table tennis and croquet, with residents becoming passionately involved in their performance. Our residents love games and a little competition, so it was no surprise that there were a lot of smiles and laughter during the sports. The winners were even awarded gold medals at the end!
