Australia Day celebrations at RFBI

Sonia Lim 28 Jan 2020

Throughout Australia Day week, each village across RFBI celebrated in the own special way. Our staff and residents love celebrating the day together and came together to enjoy each other’s company while participating in various activities together.

RFBI Holt Masonic Village held an Australia Day Bush Fire Relief fundraiser and raised over $1,000 to be donated to NSW Rural Fire Service. Residents from our residential care village and both retirement living villages in Holt and Pearce came together to enjoy a sausage sizzle, pavlova and great music entertainment by Phil Mayor. Everyone had a lovely time and it wonderful to see our RFBI Canberra community not only come together for a fun celebration but also for a good cause.

Australia Day celebrations

Residents from RFBI Basin View Masonic Village had a busy day playing cricket, gumboot throwing and thong tossing on the verandah of the Village but what everyone enjoyed the most was the Australia Day photo booth filled with everything Aussie.

From flags to balloons, placemats to cups and plates, hats and glasses, the dining room at RFBI Tamworth Masonic Village was decked out with Australia Day decorations. Residents, families and staff had a fun time decorating and enjoyed the day singing Australian songs and each other’s company.

A big thank you to our dedicated staff for making this time so enjoyable for our residents. From all of us here at RFBI, Happy Australia Day!
