Armchair travel to Honolulu

Sonia Lim 13 Dec 2019

Residents at RFBI Basin View Masonic Village recently experience an exciting trip to Honolulu from the safety of their very own armchair. From having personalised passports and boarding passes to a real feel atmosphere with the sound of plane engines running, residents were made to feel like passengers on holiday when their Village lounge room was transformed to look like inside a plane.

The fun truly started when our ‘passengers’ arrived in Honolulu. They were first greeted by the Ukulele group singing Hawaiian songs, had lays placed around their necks and were then escorted to a Hawaiian photo corner to have their photos taken and passports stamped.

Lunch included ham and pineapple pizza or ham and pineapple steak with a fruit punch. Everyone had a wonderful time and is looking forward to their next holiday.

Our Lifestyle and Leisure team are always working on finding creative ways to keep our residents entertained and engaged and hope that through armchair travels, these experiences will help our residents broaden their minds.
