Armchair travel takes Basin View residents to Scotland
1 Oct 2026The lounge room at RFBI Basin View Masonic Village was transformed into a bustling international airport terminal as our residents embarked on a thrilling armchair travel adventure to Glasgow, Scotland.
Organised by the Leisure & Lifestyle team, the virtual getaway began with our residents receiving custom travel passports which were proudly stamped before everyone ‘boarded’ their flight. Upon arrival in Scotland, the group enjoyed virtual sightseeing tours across the historic city of Glasgow, taking in the iconic architecture, green highlands and rich culture.
The highlight of the journey was a visit to the Commonwealth Games, where the residents stepped up as eager competitors in friendly indoor events, including shot put and netball.
The room was filled with cheering, laughter and fantastic team spirit as the residents waved pom-poms to support the Aussies and celebrate their own athletic achievements. After the excitement of the games, the group gathered to enjoy a delicious Scottish-themed lunch prepared by our Catering team.
The trip to Scotland was filled with non-stop laughter, proving to be an absolute hit with everyone in the Residential Care Village. The residents are already looking forward to seeing where their stamped passports will take them on their next international flight!
