At RFBI one of our strengths lies in our diversity. Recently village residents and staff came together to celebrate Harmony Day, a vibrant tribute to the many cultures that make our village feel like home.

The villages were awash with orange (the official colour of Harmony Day) and traditional attire. From bright and beautiful outfits to culturally diverse cuisine enjoyed in decorated common areas, the atmosphere was one of inclusion and shared respect.

Food has a unique way of bridging cultures, and our Harmony Day celebrations were no exception. In RFBI Concord Community Village our local Catering team prepared a special menu featuring dishes from across the globe, sparking many conversations among residents about their own heritage and the traditional recipes passed down through their families.

The highlight of the day for many villages was the storytelling. Residents from a wide array of backgrounds shared memories of their homelands, their journeys to Australia and the traditions they hold dear. It was a poignant reminder that while we all come from different places, we are united by our shared communities within our villages.

Harmony Day is more than just a date on the calendar; it is a reflection of our daily life. Whether through music, art or a simple shared meal, we take pride in fostering an environment where every resident and every staff member is valued for their unique history.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this year’s celebration so colourful and heart-warming.
