The peace of a Saturday afternoon was replaced by festive excitement at RFBI Basin View Masonic Village, as the local fire brigade made a very special delivery.

Organised by the village’s Lifestyle & Leisure team, the Basin View Fire Brigade included the village in their annual community Santa Run. At 2:00 PM sharp, the sound of sirens announced that a certain jolly man in red had arrived – not on a sleigh, but in a big red fire truck!

Residents gathered to watch as Santa emerged from the truck, much to everyone’s delight. Despite having a very tight schedule with many more stops to make across the region, Santa made it his mission to personally hand out Christmas cards to every resident at the village.

The gesture was met with huge smiles and laughter, as residents enjoyed the novelty of the fire truck and the chance to share a quick Merry Christmas with Santa.

Events like these are a highlight of the festive calendar at our villages. They provide a wonderful opportunity for residents to engage with local volunteers and feel the warmth of the wider community.

RFBI Basin View Masonic Village extends a heartfelt thank you to the volunteers of the Basin View Fire Brigade for their kindness and for making the 2025 Santa Run a memorable one for our residents.
