Many of the residents across our villages share a love of gardening and for home-grown vegetables. There’s nothing like munching on a tomato that you’ve grown yourself and gardening your own veggies does wonders for the environment.

Residents from our gardening group in RFBI Lake Haven Masonic Village were recently delighted to harvest a crop of delicious vegetables from the village garden. Our wonderful residents planted the seeds in winter and have lovingly tended to them each week (with the help of our village gardener and green thumb, Paul).

The group picked silverbeet and lettuce which our catering staff used to create a delicious meal for all to enjoy.

Gardening is a wonderful activity for our residents to be involved in. It is healthy, increases physical activity, and maintains flexibility and mobility. Plus, it is fantastic for overall mental health.
