A memorable milestone as Mary turns 99
29 May 2026
The sound of the bagpipes echoed through the halls of RFBI Glen Innes Masonic Village this week as we gathered to celebrate a very special lady: Mary, who turned 99 young!
Reaching 99 is a remarkable achievement and the team at Glen Innes wanted to ensure Mary’s big day was as vibrant and memorable as she is. Surrounded by fellow residents, staff and dear friends, Mary was the guest of honour at a birthday celebration that was as spirited as the music playing for her.
In a nod to her heritage and a surprise that delighted everyone in attendance, a local bagpiper was invited to perform. The powerful music added a sense of ceremony and joy to the afternoon, with residents and guests tapping along to the traditional tunes.
Mary’s 99th birthday was not just a celebration of age, but a celebration of a life full of stories and friendships. The afternoon was filled with laughter, delicious birthday treats and plenty of Happy Birthday cheers.
At RFBI we love making milestones like these special to residents. Seeing the smile on Mary’s face as the pipes played was a highlight for our entire team. Happy Birthday, Mary!
