Once a week, a dedicated group of residents at RFBI Raleigh Urunga Masonic Village gathers for their beloved gardening sessions. During a gathering held some time ago now, residents blossomed an amazing idea. With International Nurses Day coming up, residents wanted to do something to show their deep appreciation for the nurses in the village, who selflessly care for them each day.

Quietly, without our nurses finding out, residents with the help from our team carefully potted vibrant succulents to gift to our team. They diligently watered and nurtured the plants, watching them thrive in the village’s greenhouse, and getting them ready to gift as part of our celebration of International Nurses Day.

As the days passed and the succulents flourished, the Leisure & Lifestyle team helped residents to attach handcrafted thank-you cards to the front of each pot, adding a personal touch to the heartfelt message of appreciation.

Residents eagerly distributed the potted succulents to the nurses in the village. Our nurses, eyes sparkling, were touched by the kind gesture.

But the celebrations didn’t end there. In honour of the special occasion, an afternoon tea was organised, filled with laughter, conversation, and delectable treats. It was a moment of camaraderie and shared appreciation, acknowledging the invaluable role nurses play in fostering a nurturing environment within the village.
